PEIE will hold its annual two-day Smart Manufacturing conference at the Muscat Inter-Continental Hotel Muscat, 29 – 30 November 2008. Reducing Lead Times

  1. Determine the bottleneck in your production process and ensure that parts keep flowing through at the required hourly rate. You can only make the number of products that you can get through the bottleneck.
     
  2. Reduce stocks between operations to a minimum. Increasing in-process stock increases the time from saw to complete window. Only hold in process stocks at bottlenecks.
